My neighbor was looking at my new C7. He spotted a very very thin scratch on the door. I called my dealer and they said no problem, just bring it in and drop it off and they will take care of it. That is a hassle if there is not other work that needs to be done. Is there any product I can use to buff out this scratch.
The acid test for "it will buff out" is whether your fingernail catches on the scratch when you run it across the scratch. If it does it is too deep to buff out and needs to be filled and leveled. If you can't feel it then it can be buffed out with a good polish. The corvette clear is pretty hard, so it will likely take a good random orbital like the Groits suggested above. A microfiber cutting pad can help things along finishing with foam.
Easy to fix yourself Wetsand using Dawn with 2000/1500/1000 rit and then polish using Cable Porter. Taken out many scratches and reduced touch up humps. I don't worry about chips and scratches anymore.
You can either fill or sand. I prefer filling first then sanding to level. IF the paint is an exact match
