Should be interesting for all to see on the C7 (w/ Michelin tires)....I replaced my C6 tires (GY) @ 16,000 mi, w/ half the tread left, because I could no longer stand the noise...
I just turned 5000 miles and the tires look like new. By contrast at 5000 on my 2012 Grand Sport I was starting to look for a new set of tires. I expect to get at least 20K miles, and that would be almost 3 years of driving for me.

I did also. The rears had most of their tread left. The fronts were totally shot on the inside edge. The Michelins were much quieter!

IMHO, it should not be about wearing tires out until the cords show. I change my tires every 20K. Keeps the "new" feeling of the Car. Also, adds to the safety/performance of the Car. If a person can't afford $1,500 for new rubber every two years maybe that person really can't afford one of these Cars. Just sayin.......

Sorry, not very good advice unless you desire to waste money. No one is talking about wearing a tire down to the cords. Tires are considered fully safe for 6 yrs after manufacture as long as you aren’t down to the wear bars.
Typically a quality tire less than 6 yrs old actually has better cornering ability with a lower tread depth.
At two years I’ll probably have 10K miles on my C7, replacing the tires would an absurd waste of money. Don
Z51 7 speed, with 3K on the clock, tires are about 30% gone (of usefull tread life). Do not track car. Looks like a 10K tire replacement schedule to be expected. My '11GS blew through the OEM GoodYears in 4K miles. Replaced with Michelin PS2 EMTs and put another 8K on the car with very little measurable tire wear when I traded the GS on the Stingray.

Inside front tire cupping on my 08 also caused me to change when tires had plenty of tread. Now with non directional tires I have switched side to side on both 12 GS and now my C7 to help any alignment issues in check. I choose 5000 miles as a rotate point. On directional tires I dismounted the fronts and moved them side to side since they were not A-symmetrical at 10k. trying to avoid that roar ever again! You would think Alignment would take care of all this non-sense but it seems there is a set-up for good handling on bad roads and one for good tire wear on good roads. And it's always a compromise!

Read my post. I said every 20K. For me that is every two years. For you at 5K per year that would be four years. Understand?

Yeah, I did read the post and yeah I do understand. I drive conservatively and won’t wear the tires out in 20K. By conservatively, I don’t do things to attract LE but have, of course, spun the tires.
I also have a Pontiac G8GT with a 6 liter LS engine. Bridgestones have a 140 tread wear rating, less than half of the base C7s tires and with 38K on them, they have a lot of tread on them.
I have a non z51. I do not track my car. Approximately how long before I will need to replace tires?
I just recently replaced the Michelin PS2 runflats on my C6 Z06 at 30,800 miles. The inside edge of the front tires were at the wear bars while the rears still had 3/ to 4/32nds of tread remaining. That's with one track day and one autocross on the tires.
The PS2's have a wear rating of 220 while the PSS's are 300. With reasonable driving, a good alignment, and continued attention to inflation pressures, I don't see why you'll get any less than 30,000 miles out of them. Of course, there are always those who can wear a set of tires down in a few thousand miles, so a lot depends upon you.
