I'm tempted to take the 3-day course in Las Vegas later this month. Has anyone taken advantage of the GM subsidized class? I just recognized the irony in that question. It looks like it could be a lot of fun and there is a chance this old dog may learn something.

It's on my bucket list.
I have been told that Every Chevy dealer has to send one employee to take that class if they want to sell the C7, so they have some one knowledgeable about the C7's handling and capabilities.
Don't know if that's really true ?

I called in today, there isn't any availability until December, which is OK. My only concern is the $8,000 deductible on the insurance coverage they offer. I called Geico and asked if my regular car insurance would cover with my normal deductible and they could not give me a definitive answer. How did you guys that took the course deal with this.

For $200, you can buy the deductible down to $2000 (I think it's $2000). I thought about it, and then asked about it when I arrived. They said it was up to me, but that they have only had ONE incident requiring insurance coverage. They pride themselves in keeping you within the limits but stretching you to your highest potential. I was glad I saved the $200.

I'm amazed that everyone doesn't take the course. The Corvette is a hi-performance car, designed for hi-performance driving. If you are interested in learning about the car's capabilities, the course is a must.
