Supplier Discount & GM Credit Card Rebate
Just got a call from my dealer today and he informed me that I could not use a supplier discount and the $2800 from my GM credit card on the purchase of my new Vette. I can't see how that can happen. The credit card
earned $ have no relation to the discount I work out with my dealer. Very disappointed with the credit card... it goes in the drawer!!

That does suck. Will have to take that into consideration when I get ready to buy since I have a GM card too.

It's part of the program rules, it does not allow supplier / Credit Union discount to be combined with your GM Card.
The discount you work out with the dealer is actually a discount that GM is working out for you. GM Doesn't want you "double dip" in this case.
You could ask the dealership to do it at supplier pricing but not use the actual supplier program.
I'd be interested in purchasing your points I'll PM you.

There are two GM Cards that can be combined with supplier or employee pricing. They are the GM Business card and the GM Extended Family card. They only earn at 1% vs 5%, but they can be combined with the discount pricing. I believe you can convert your standard card to the GM Extended Family card and your existing earnings will convert 5 to 1. You can then use those earnings with the discount.

I had the same thing happen to me. I only had $650 on my GM card and I used the Credit Union discount. Wrote the check for the car, got home, and the dealer called and said..."Sorry, we weren't supposed let you use the GM card amount. You will need to bring us another check to pay back the $650".....That money amount was earned by using the credit card. It should have been counted as cash. That was the purpose of using that credit card to save money towards a new GM car.
Needless to say, I cut the credit card up and will no longer use that account.

This goes back years. I've had the GM Card longer than I can count. When my employer became a GM Supplier about ten years, I tried to combine both discounts when purchasing my 2005 C6 and I was told no. I called GM Card and they told me the same thing. I have about $2,500 on my GM Card and can't use it. On the bright side, my GM Supplier discount saved me $6,500 on my 2014!

My dealer will not honor the Credit Union discount but she said that I can use up to $3000.00 on my GM card points. I have 5000 I believe. If I still had the original GM card that was the first one to be issued I could use all of the points towards my purchase.
