There have been several threads where the OP has commented that the C7 is lacking in low end torque, contrasted with many that say the car has lots of low end torque. GM says the C7 has considerably more low end than the C6 and is even ahead of the 2013 ZO6 until just past 4000 rpm.
I make no claims to be a torque converter guru so here are my thoughts.
It is my understanding that the C7 has a smaller diameter torque converter than automatic C6s. If so, that normally means a higher stall speed. I would think that might give a false impression of slightly sluggish behavior off the line at light throttle.
Thinking of the 1/4 mile advantage the C7 has over the C6 according to posts by Snorman and others (and supported by magazine road tests), one would think that thoughts of low low end torque are simply misperceptions. Comments? Don
