You can spend lots of money adding goodies to your new Corvette. Turns out the biggest bang for the buck is learning how to drive this thing rather than buying chrome platted turbo muffler bearings or fuzzy dice. I just completed the two day course at the Ron Fellows Corvette Performance Driving School. Great hands on experience.
Only 10 people in the class. Five instructors who know Corvettes inside and out. Beautiful fully optioned top of the line ZR1 cars. They told me that Spring Mountain has 60 - 80 Corvettes on site. All the cars I drove had less than 3,000 miles on the clock. Class started with the basics of car handling and then out to the track. Practice the concept and back to the class room for the next lesson. Lots of track time which really builds skill and confidence. The afternoon of day 2 was driving as fast as your skill would safely allow on the 1 1/2 mile 10 turn road course.
It was a blast and worth every penny. My only regret was that I should have gone for 3 days.
Performance driving schools are invaluable! I can't think of any money better spent. I plan on booking a slot with Ron Fellows at Spring Mountain as soon as I have the VIN number for my new Z51. I took a one-day class a year ago at Don Kitch's ProFormance Racing School in Kent, WA. Started out pretty wimpy- not real confident in myself or my car; but by the end of the day, I had cut my lap times almost in half!! A real confidence builder!

Thanks for coming!
Glad you enjoyed it and hope you come back again soon and do it again!
Cheers,
Yes they do! In fact 90% of our fleet are manuals. We do have automatics available too.
All the cars in the class I attended were manuals but you could request an automatic if that's what you wanted. My C7 which is my daily commuter, is an automatic but it was fun to drive the 7 speeds. One of the class room and track excursuses was heal toe shifting so you could understand and practice the concept. Or you can just let the car do it for you since that is one of the many options available and the Corvette executes flawlessly if you know how to turn it on.
The cool thing is that they explained all this tuff. It's one thing to read the manual, it's a whole other level when someone walks you through it, lets you can ask questions and then take you to the track to actually do it.
