Ya know...
Thread after thread is started by different posters about this, yet you could almost say their opening salvo is almost verbatim of all the other threads started.
Call me cynical but I'm beginning to smell a rat here.....
I've been away from Vettes for many, many years due to a past quality issue. My past Vettes included 58,63 Split, 66 427,70 350/350 ,then my problem child a 73. I had in the distant past and have watched intently this new C7 for quite a few months. What a wonderful engineering marvel this car has become from electrical, to mechanical,to general design. I don't understand the negativism regarding the oil filter issue when metallurgy has advanced dramatically through the decades to pinpoint source of metal fatigue,or abnormal wear. We use it often in aircraft, expensive engines. Not so many years ago I blew an original 427 FE Side Oiler that had been rebuild with all new OEM parts etc. It had been X-rayed, balanced, blue printed and it blew on the first run.
This very expensive (history) engine blew to the embarrassment of the assemblers who were well known. Metallurgists were hired as to what broke loose and why . I do not think GM would come up with a story like this to attempt to satisfy it's base with a lie for varies reasons that time will not allow.
It went to the dealer approx. 2 weeks ago to order my first vette in decades, it was to be a Z51 2015 coupe, but my wife interrupted through the process and said," Why don't you buy the Z06"! Well my order was placed without hesitation! I'm back and I feel very confident regarding these mishaps, very confident I am going to get one of the best Sports cars out there to rivals all others. Believe me I have been around the block more than a few times! I'm almost ashamed to tell you the number vehicles owned in my lifetime but this is not the reason for my ramblings. This new Vette is one Marvel. Now if someone at GM sees my post I would appreciate moving me to the front of the list!!!
I will be ordering a C7 in the Spring and these silly engine problem posts have ZERO impact on my decision. Go onto any automotive brand forum and you will see issues with the car.
