Default Engine sound question

2015 Z51 2600 miles

Love my new car but have noticed when I rev the motor up from idle I hear a gasping or momentary sucking air sound. This just started today. I have 2600 miles on the odometer.

Any ideas?

Mine has always done that. The LT1 makes a lot of strange noises.

Thanks for the reply guys. It appears the oil was over serviced when I received the car at the dealership. About an inch above the high mark on the dipstick. I checked it as per the manual.

While I was driving it home to my home state (2400 miles) I decided to drop into a Chevrolet dealer in route. The technician estimated that it was over serviced by one half quart. He explained that the baffles in the oil tank would not allow him to use a turkey baster to remove some oil. He said with these dry sump motors it is impossible to burp up any oil. Ummm, ok?

I didn't argue just kept driving home. Anyway this sucking air sound or gasping started after I removed the bridge to the manifold and found oil which I had suspected. Checked the hose clamps and everything went back on correctly. I take it in for its first oil change tomorrow so hopefully they will clean it up and check, replace the air filter and check PVC lines.

Sounds like other get that same gasp or sucking initially when the hit the throttle so I won't worry about. Love the car!

if the noise was there only after you took it apart, I would say go over the parts you touched. its easy to do but we have seen a lot of guys not get this right.

Thanks. I rechecked the rubber piece I removed just aft of the radiator. Four 7 mm
screws. Rechecked the hose clamps on the bridge I removed and they are snug with the collar secure.

The gasping sound is subtle and might of existed before I took it apart.
