Default WTB Carbon Fiber dash

I have searched and read almost every thread on this forum about CF dashes and CF shifter plates on a C7.

I am still undecided about which CF dash to buy, for example, oem GM, Apsis and American Hydrocarbon (there may be others). It appears that all use some form of CF overlay on the oem GM dash piece. Is this correct?

I can see that the oem GM CF dash has the CF pattern go one way to the left of the steering wheel and the opposite way to the right of the steering wheel. I prefer this look and may lean toward the GM CF dash. I have also seen aftermarket CF dashes have the CF pattern go in just one direction only. I think the pattern directions is just a matter of personal preference.

However, I would like a similar or matching CF patten on the dash and shifter plate. Does this mean that I should go aftermarket with one supplier for both the CF dash and the CF shifter plate?

I need a little advice before I commit to buy today or tomorrow at the latest.

The OEM is genuine carbon fiber. Not an overlay. Don't know about the others.

I think what he means by overlay is laminate and both the Apisis and the GM dash are carbon fiber which is laminated over the OEM plastic as opposed to a complete molded carbon fiber dash which would be carbon fiber on both front and back.

Obviously American Hydro Carbon is just that. A fake carbon fiber hydro carbon finish over the factory dash.

OP, the factory dash is really nice. If you don't like the matte finish, you could polish it or clear coat it. The Apsis raises the bar with an impressive quality finish but both are really nice. I personally installed the factory OEM carbon fiber dash in mine and am really pleased.

The APSIS stuff is great quality. It matches the GM FAY option perfectly. I've done a lot of my interior pieces in APSIS product and it's beautiful stuff.

Zajac, I've got the OEM dash matched with the Apsis USA center console and waterfall (the piece behind the armrest).

The center console and waterfall match the OEM dash perfectly. Apsis also makes the dash, so you have an alternative to the OEM dash. You can order any or all these pieces in matte finish or shiny finish from Apsis USA.
