I figure I am too lazy to read the manual... When I start my C7 remotely it appears to be 'shut down' and take a while to get going.. steering locks, shifter locks etc... What am I missing?

Just press the "start" button with your foot on the brake and everything will work.
WELL...... if your too lazy. get some one to look behind the drivers seat.
they will find a crank , tell them to put it in the hole in front of the car and turn . then have them come and tell you what happens ....
but for real , there is a slot on the left side of the dash under the light control, after you remote start put the fob in that space and count to 25 all will be fine ...but don't go over 25

Download the Owner's Manual as a PDF-It's searchable! Easy to find the topic is not in the Index. Those of us with manual trans don’t have that option (not of being lazy, remote start!)
I have noticed on mine that if I press the start button before I hit the brake everything locks up and the only thing you can do is stop and then restart. So it is important to put your foot on the brake first.
