Question regarding forum vendors
Are forum vendors able to delete posts? I had a post deleted from a vendor thread that very mildly critiqued the price. I even said that everyone seems to love the product, implying that it must be good value.
While I'm not offended personally by this since I don't own this forum, I'm concerned about a lack of balanced opinions in the vendor threads. I've been purchasing multiple items from forum vendors and will be mighty p!ssed if one or any of those items turn out to be of inferior quality or value when others may have tried to warn potential customers but their posts had been deleted.

if a vendor puts up a post, the mods will delete anything they don't like...my bitch is they do it in the discussion forum, a vendor has a spot here for his stuff, it should be fair game in the gen discussion area to say anything. I would like to see a rule that they have to put a price if they post instead of the "PM for price" crap. Some of the stuff is so expensive it seems they are ashamed to put the price...

Vendors are not able to delete posts. They are however able to request a moderator or administrator delete a post that does not advance the sale of the product according to this forum rule:

Interference in a For Sale thread
If you don’t like the price or item being offered in for sale thread, take it to e-mail or PMs. Better still, just move on to a thread that is offering something you like the price on.
If you post a criticism of the price or the quality of the item being offered, you will be in violation of Forum rules and subject to sanctions.
If you post your own for sale items to the for sale thread started by someone else, you also are in violation of Forum rules. Start your own thread, rather than jumping into the thread of someone else.
If your contribution to a for sale thread does not advance the sale, you are in the way.

As far as the "PM for price", if you see it, report it. Members are required to post a price for an item for sale. See section 3 in the following link:
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...eir-parts.html
We will not permit threads where no price is stated, and asks for open offers. Low ball offers that are clearly ridiculous in nature, will be considered a violation of the forum rule pertaining to "Interference in a for sale," thread:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1118176
Members are not permitted to "gauge interest," in their item for sale thread. Such threads will create an ebay type auction, and that is unacceptable. Sellers must create their thread with an asking price included.

Complaints, Suggestions & Questions
If you have suggestions for the improvement of the Forum, questions or criticism of the Forum or its moderation, you are welcome to PM or e-mail a moderator. Please do not use an open thread for such messages, however.
That would include, but is not limited to discussions about who has been banned and why.
The work on the Forum's volunteer moderators is difficult enough without having folks calling them out in open threads.

Free Speech/censorship
God bless America, where we enjoy constitutionally protected rights. Free speech, although not absolute, is one of those rights.
Being a member at Corvetteforum.com is not, however, a constitutionally protected right. The Forum is a private enterprise and its owner has the right to establish rules of behavior for participants.
Participants who agree to follow Forum rules and then don’t will sometimes find that their inappropriate posts have been deleted. They should not reopen a topic after a moderator has closed a thread on the topic. A pattern of such defiance of the Forum’s rules/guidelines will jeopardize a member’s posting privileges.

And the "pm for a price " is an unacceptable consumer practice.

So that only applies to FS threads? So if I want opinions on a vendor item, I can start a thread and the vendor can't have any criticisms deleted?

You can in the transaction feedback section. Have a look at the link I posted to that section above to see the types of threads (both positive and negative) in there.

[QUOTE=Glen e;1587947218] a vendor has a spot here for his stuff, it should be fair game in the gen discussion area to say anything. I would like to see a rule that they have to put a price if they post instead of the "PM for price" crapQUOTE]
Approximately 20% of all threads in the GEN discussion are forum vendor threads....
Why is that? My guess is because there's very little traffic in the vendor section.
I get how it works....vendors help support the forum but dam, dont bog down GEN with fake 'for sale' threads like the current puke brown interior thread or this exhaust sound sweet thread.
Pimp a product in GEN and you should be required to post a price.

This post never had a price for his items and an administrator did nothing. It took a forum member that had PM'ed him to post any price.
Just saying.

Vendors are NOT required to post a price. That's the rules.
Seems a number of members need to review the forum rules: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...and-rules-109/
Including this one:
