Winter tires found, but.....
I'm willing to try these this winter, but this price is almost a deal breaker. I'd like to get it closer to $1300 or less...anyone have another source at a better price?
Last year I paid about $1100 total (including mounting and balancing and tax) for a set of Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires for my Z51 at Discount Tire. They are not true winter tires, but are rated.

I just bought the same continental DWS tires for my z51 from discount tire direct for 875 shipped
I saw those too and I also saw that the price was the same as the OEM tires and they are not even run flats. I haven't really looked for them any place else yet. For my purpose, the all season tires are probably fine (and cheaper).

try Discount Tire. I found them to be less expensive than Tire Rack. once you calculate all the add-ons (shipping from tire rack, sales tax from Discount Tire, mounting and balancing). I paid around $1400 mounted and balanced for the Michelins at Discount Tire.

I've bought several sets of tires from Discount Tire and they have always been less expensive than anywhere else I have found.

Thanks everyone, I believe we have rounded up all the candidates...not a lot of choices yet for a Z51. Couple observations: the Sottozeros came up at $1577.96 at 1010tires, they are the 240 series though, which I think is different from those mentioned above. The Continentals came up $853, AND they have a high rating for snow, kind of surprising bonus. Finally, I am aware of Discount Tire, and have great contacts near me with 3 stores that do great work on the vette. They recommended staying with Michelin...either the all season or the Alpin PA4. Lots of time yet to make a decision....maybe the $70 promotion will come back soon....
Sottozeros are the same just closeout & 235/40R19 and 295/30R20 they fit perfect & are only $962.00. If you dont go w/ Pirelli I would go w/ the PA4 they are just as good if not better.
DiscountTire, used to have an online Ebay store where you could order your tires often cheaper than the actual store. With the purchase they would drop ship them to your local Discount Tire where you can then get them installed(used to provide free install too but that was 6+ yrs ago). The cheapest route is look on the Discount Tire ebay store and then go into the local store and tell them you're going to get your tires from the online Ebay store unless they want to beat/match the price. 99.9 % of the time they will match the price. So you win regardless.
