Well I got done painting the chrome grill and had paint left over so I decided to paint my splash guards carbon flash
I tried two ways sanding the plastic smooth and just giving them 2 heavy coats of primer. I found just a light scuff and 2 coats of primer gave the smoothest finish. I still need to buff them out for the glass finish but I'll do that next weekend.
Sorry no pics of the whole car, I'll get one tomorrow
I'm getting ready to paint my splash guards and rear license tag frame CF enamel paint from NAPA. What kind of primer did you use, spray can or primer from a paint supplier?
I used rattle can paint
sherwin Williams custom mixes gm carbon flash
The primer was just some gray sandable primer I had laying around
The clear is VHT high temp clear ( I find it holds up really well )
The splash guards front and rear I bought from the dealer
I think that is what you ment only other thing pictured are the acs z06 side skirts

Special plastic primer that flexes is best to use for plastic parts. Plastic grows and shrinks with temperature changes. Good luck with off the shelf primer.
Great job! I'm now running the std GM black plastic guards but want some of the NRB painted ones...think I'll spring for the ones done by the pros rather than botch the job myself.
