A wise man told me long ago, anything you paint you'll have to repaint later. Leave them alone and skip the paint unless you like looking at stone chipped guards.. Really..
I installed splash guards very early on my one year old C7. After installing larger colored ones on my C6, these are much smaller, look fine, worked in the rear, but did not protect the side rocker panels. The GM clear plastic was still getting marked with debris and it was just a matter of time when other areas, particularly near the rear of the door were damaged. Had that problem with my ’87 and ’93 Vettes but mostly directly behind both wheels. The C7 tucks in further on the bottom sides. The solution is to add side skirts. I have both splash guards and side skirts but could have gotten by with just rear splash guards. I think black looks fine so will leave the fronts for the extra protection they provide. Here are some pics and you can decide.
The stock fender liner does not even come out to the edge of the fender, so the optional splash guards are an improvement, and they are still narrow enough not to distract from the look of the car... Especially since there is other black trim...
I personally think that painting them the body color just makes them look worse and become more obvious.
I have the black OEM guards on mine and think they are hardly noticeable. I have been considering painting them Carbon Flash to match the rest of the vents, trim and side skirts. The rock chips mentioned above are my biggest concern. Can anyone that painted their own speak to this issue.
i found the gm splash guards for $54 pr. really simple install, it took about 1 minute each. while i was at it i also installed the leave in place jacking pucks.
YEA.
Only $120 for 4, it can't hurt.
Just installed mine today. Super easy, 10 minutes total, for all 4.
Black color Looks great, blends in w/ my midnight blue.
Interesting that factory is made in USA, these were made in China & looks factory that sticks out 3/4 inch...

May I ask where you purchased these and the pucks?
Thanks
There is one 7mm screw at the very bottom of each fender right behind the fender well. So, you will need a 7mm socket to back that screw out, then gently pull the stock piece forward and it will pop right off. There are 3 or 4 push in fasteners, start with the top one first, then work down. Re-install the 7mm screw and it takes a few minutes per wheel well. Easy Peasy!!!

You can get the splash guards at several places. I ordered mine from Bob at Rimrock chevy. They are a forum dealer and can get great prices on GM parts. Here's a link to a thread with their info.
