Default HUD issue

So I'm driving home from the Ocean City Corvette weekend. Cruising down a highway 75'ish mph/cruise control on. I looked at the HUD as I had many times before, and I decided to brighten it a bit. So without looking, I reach down to the HUD buttons/left of the steering column, to make the adjustments. Not sure what I did, but I made the HUD go completely away into HUD heaven. I can't get it back no matter what I do with those HUD buttons. Anyone know what I may have done? I've been thru the book several times, and spent a 1/2 hr in the driveway, with the engine running trying to get it back.......what am I doing, or not doing to fix this.

Check the brightness. It isn't immediate in its response and you need to hold it a while

Two things:

1) You could have turned it off. This happens if you hold down the brightness button (right most). With you car running (to make sure everything is operating), hold the brightness button up for a few seconds. See if it is back now.

2) You could have possibly adjusted it "off the top or bottom" with the Image Adjustment button (left most). After holding the brightness up for a few seconds, play with the Image Adjustment button while watching the windshield HUD area to see if it appears.

Thanks for the replies guys....
Ok, I just went out, started the car, and held the brightness button (right button) for 30 seconds. No luck. Did the same with the height (left button) and still no hud. Is it possible that I screwed up a setting somewhere else/in the comp system and shut it down, or is that not even possible? I've tried holding the buttons up and down, also jogging them a number of times, up and down. Still no hud.
I also changed the fuse (#25 Inst panel/HUD) and still no HUD.
