Default Z51 spoiler fitment question

I've had my car for a few days now and just noticed that the spoiler is not bolted down tight on the sides. Roughly a quarter inch of the threads are showing of the bolts on each corner with a noticeable gap. Should the spoiler be completely bolted down or is it suppose to have this much play?

Should be fully flushed, no gap or play... no visible bolts or foam neither. I'd have the dealer promptly address & fix that.

Hang on to it just like it is. It's definitely a rarity, probably the only one to leave the factory that way!

To be serious, somebody screwed up, there shouldn't be any threads showing. It's a lot of work to fix it, take it back to the dealer.

That's a bunch of crap. I get quality issues happen but this is unacceptable.

I recall early on someone quoting a GM spokesperson saying there was a gap designed for proper aerodynamics! However my C7 built in September 2013 has no visible gaps. Just checked and can’t get a piece of paper in along any part of the Z51 spoiler!

Someone posted that "someone screwed up" but it appears that someone didn't screw down the spoiler.

Is your car a Z51 or does it have the ZF1 option? My question leading to, wondering if the spoiler was installed at the factory or was it installed at the dealer? Either way, as all the other posts indicated it isn't supposed to look like that.

I agree with all the above. Unfortunately to fix it the rear fascia will have to come off or at least loosened, so you can get to the nuts underneath, so it is not a quick DIY fix. Find some other C7 you can take a picture of (showing what it should look like, in case the dealer disagrees) and take it to the dealer to get it fixed.

OTOH that pic shows why the wing spoiler can't replace the Z51 spoiler. Nice to see.

According to his profile, it is a "2015 C7 Z51".

Correct Z51. Came directly off the truck like that I guess.

Did some more messing around today and it appears that the outside bolts are completely free. I can pull the edges up on both sides at least an inch. Maybe the forget to put all four bolts on?

Anyways, I have a list of 6 things that need fixed and will be taking it in next week. Sucks because my '10 Grand Sport was nearly perfect albeit feeling cheap.
