Today I sold the StingRay couldn't pass up the offer since my StingRay was depreciating fast. Since this was only temporary till I get a C7 Z06. I got out while the gettin was good. I drove the C7 daily and put in some pretty hard drives during 20k+ miles. My C7 StingRay handled every bit I dished out. Great car and will be back with a C7 Z06 in the near future. For now I'll be in my 2015 GMC Sierra SLT
Gone
2014 2LT Convertible, AT, 20k miles (which is high)
Assuming a few other options not listed, such as NPP, my guess is you sold to a private party for...
$56,000 - $57,000.

WOW man your good I sold private party @ 58100. In my area mid blue booked out @ 59ish at the time of sale.
Nice truck! How did the tires hold up? No replacements needed?
At least you drove and drove your C7... see you next time with a Z06!
Thanks, tire were definitely needed but again I drove her pretty stout being my 6th Vette I know these cars are built and engineered for that type of driving. My StingRay never broke or gave me any problems at all, 20k+ flawless miles.

Damn, and I initially typed $57,000 - $58,000 then lowered a bit more based on the miles.
Your MSRP was probably about $64k - $66k depending on purchase date. So, that's only 10-12% depreciation on a 1 year old car with 20k miles.
2014s holding value well so far, even after the release of the 2015s.
Thanks, Well I didn't get the C7 Z06 but I did just pick up a 2016 2LT ZF1 Shark Gray coupe A8. Couldn't swing the Z06 bad planning on my part, very happy to be back in A Vette.

A Corvette is NOT an investment. I bought mine to use and enjoy. I don't care how good a deal anyone gets to sell their car. I can not imagine driving a truck rather then my Corvette. The truck depreciates too. I am not following the logic here at all.

Everything depreciates over time. The OP said he sold his 14 and bought a GMC Truck.....Then he traded that in later on for another Vette. He also stated that he put 20,000 miles on a ONE YEAR OLD C7...dare say he USED and ENJOYED it. I follow the logic....why can't you?? And to the OP....Welcome back!!!!

Because he " got out while the getting was good" OK?

The OP sold a 1 year old C7. Selling a 1-2 year old car is the worst time to sell it for the seller, not the best time, or as you termed it "while the getting is good".

Hey Red good morning. I was replying to the post above mine. The whole point was to rebut the logic. I agree with you.
Logic has nothing to do with buying Car or truck. For me, it was simply money lost and time wasted. NO logic there, but a lesson learned no replacement for the Vette. Just happy to be back in a Vette
That's all
