Default Driver's Seat Memory Problem

My '14, an AT convertible, has had a problem with the driver's seat not adjusting to the preset setting when the engine was started. Since June '14 I, the dealer and GM engineering have been stumped. Last week they finally figured out that the 2 remotes were improperly programmed, and since reprogramming all has been fine. Thought this might be of some use to others

Thanks, how was it acting? I have to hold the button for the seat to move to preset 1 or 2 position. Same exiting, hold the button until seat stops at preset exit position. Not a big deal, I have seen there is an update but the reprogram's function doesn't interest me. This is one function where the C6 excels over the C7.

Same here. Have learned to live with the issue, it works OK . While a finger on my left hand holds the button, my right hand is buckling the seat belt. Actually pretty quick!

Hi Larry, Mine worked ok with the preset exit settings, but I would have to depress and hold the button on the door to get the settings for driving. I don't fully understand what the problem was, but it seems that the remote was confusing the #1 and #2 settings for the driving positions. I had the problem intermittently pretty much from day one, but it was complicated when I ran one remote thru the washing machine. As it was explained to me, there can be 4 remotes programmed to the car, but only 2 can be primary. When I replaced the wet remote with a new one they programmed the new one as an additional (3rd) primary which further confused the car. The dealer had to remove the bad remote from the computer, and re-program the 2 good ones for the car to recognize the good re-programming. I believe the exit settings always worked well because they were the same for the #1 and #2 buttons, and the car wasn't confused by different settings.
