I am looking at a new Vette and am wondering what day it was built. When was the first day of production for '15's and about how many are built each day? I believe it is a early build with a VIN sequence number in the 3500's.
Production line for the 2015 C7 started on Aug.11. It takes 3.5 days to build a C7 fron start to finish and I read the they produce 65 cars a day. A second report stated 67 cars a day.
The plant works 10hr. days 5 days a week. Of course the plant is closed for holidays.
Hope this helps.

While August 11th was to be the "official" start date of 2015 production, we know that several hundred '15s were actually built during the previous week.
Daily production is more like 160 - 185 cars per day.
Wow! I didnt think it was that high. With that kind of production you would think GM would do something to get their product a little sooner to their customers.

What do you mean? I had my car within 4 days of being built.

I have read complaints of delivery taking two, three, or even four weeks, since GM switched to rail delivery.
Check out thread 'Rail or Truck'. My C5 took one week once it left Bowling Green to So.Cal., by auto transport. I will let you know how long it takes my C7 by rail.
I toured the assembly plant in August, and our tour guide stated 140 cars a day were being built. Also stated was with few exceptions, for the forseeable future, all had deposits on them.
For what it is worth, I tour the plant on Aug 8. The first Production 15s were coming of the line that day. I saw the first 15 about 25 cars from the end of the line at around 10:00 AM, plant closes at 2:45. Their goal that day was 144 cars.
Wonder if the Westward bound Wagon Trains are getting a little faster. Mine had a TPW of 10/6. Arrived at dealer in AZ 10/28. Don't know when it actually left the plant.
