A guy made a comment while I was gassing up about a light being out in the front, and considering that i did not ever see the DRL's on, I wondered if that was it or if he was busting my chops. I read through the documentation and am not really sure - am i correct that the DRLs are the led's that go on when i turn on the courtesy lights? Same intensity? Because they seem to be working fine…thanks...
Yes, they are the LEDs. They come on as described below, but will go off when the turn signals flash.
From the manual:
Daytime Running Lamps (DRL)
DRL can make it easier for others to see the front of your vehicle during
the day. DRL are required on all vehicles first sold in Canada.
The DRL system makes the dedicated lamps come on when the
following conditions are met:
. It is still daylight and the ignition is on.
. The exterior lamp control is in the AUTO position.
. The transmission is not in P (Park) or the parking brake is off.
He may have seen you when your turn signal was on.
During the day when you use your blinker, the DRL goes off on whichever signal you have on ( left or right). It's a safety feature on all cars with LED DRL's so other drivers can clearly see you are turning.
