I got the email as well. That will be a different venue-not sure how it will play with some of the long time attendees. I've only missed a handful of times since 1988 and didn't make the last two in Champaign. It seems the attendance is declining as the internet has reduced the number of swap meet vendors and larger suppliers don't actually bring product to the show but rather catalogs and/or terminals for you to order with a show discount price. This may be the last gasp for the show if it doesn't draw-they needed to try something to generate more interest in the event. The reality is it will never be the same show it was in the '70's-'80's; the hobby has changed and we've all aged as well...

I haven't been in a very long time, but that sounds like a good analysis. It would seem to me that going to Indy, a central and large city location, is a good idea. It loses something from the old location(s), but it gains more. Hope it survives.

That should be a great location. I will be there. Always liked st. Charles. Did'nt care for champaign the past two years. Good choice.

Not good news for me. While not an exciting site, Champaign was only 4-5 hours away but now Indy will be 8 hours or so, even further than St. Charles was. Not sure I will make the extra drive for the show. But I may change my mind as the show dates get closer.
