Just curious.
Did you see the pic from a couple days ago with a guide wire
ripped through the back and side of a C7 Z06, I think that was the model, that lost it on a wet road?
Apples and oranges. That car had the Sport Cup 2 tires on it, not the Super Sports. The tread on those things is close to nonexistent.
I don't understand why anyone would drive on the highway in excess of 100mph in the rain. Sure the C7 in an awesome handling automobile but it is fact that you do not have the grip on a wet road that you do when dry, so why endanger those around you?
I used weather mode and it feels like hands are holding the car in place, the throttle is also muted down. My top speed was only around sixty in moderate rain.
After more than 600,000 miles in various Corvette models over the past 26 years I can tell you definitively that the C7 is the best handling Corvette in the rain ever.
I just got back from a spirited run in the rain... what a great car - handles beautifully....

No, didn't see that. We all have stories about something that's happened.....
"Stuff" does happen... perhaps I've been fortunate - for I have tens of thousands of miles driving sports cars in the rain without incident: I am not unique.
I survived three helicopter crashes with nothing but bruises.... why? Who knows?
Far far too many Corvette owners do not drive their cars enough to know how they handle.
They don't know how well they stop. They don't have experience using the ABS, they don't know the acceleration factors - the lateral acceleration - they just don't know their cars.
Go to any Chevy dealer of any size with a reputable body shop and look at the number of Vettes there for repairs. It's because far too many Corvette owners are not Corvette drivers - they know next to NOTHING about how their cars handle - dry - and especially wet...
My first weekend with the car back in April I took a mini-roadtrip with my girlfriend and we got caught in an absolute downpour coming home the next day. I selected Weather mode, took it easy with my inputs, and had absolutely no trouble at highway speeds even with the occasional standing puddle. I was impressed with both the car and the Michelins (Z51 package).
