chevy is not interested in expanding the model line, it just robs chassis' and bodies from more profitable models that are in demand and make more money.
It's just business, 3 trims are a headache now for product planners........
just my opin.... from seeing how car companies work....very little has to do with meeting customer's wants....it's more about $$$$...
For those on a tight budget who can't afford a no option 1LT, a Camaro is available, or a used C7.
Or a Mustang, Nissan 370Z, Miata, and the list goes on. In fairness to the OP, how about this...no, I would not buy a 1ls optioned Corvette. I want all the goodies. Can't imagine Harbor Freight seat covers and a Mattel hot wheels inspired dash
Even if people would buy it to save $, I doubt GM/Chevy would want to produce it. It really doesn't make much sense (think like a rental Cadillac or rental Lexus). It would tarnish the brand.
Now if they were to make a stripped down track model, that would be different, and the price would go up, not down.
