Default Found damage when installing jacking pucks

So I ordered a set of jacking pucks for my 2015 Z51 that snap into the cars frame to protect from damage when on a jack. I get down to install them and I come to find that there is already damage in two locations.

The damage is minor and only consists of small fractures and scratches on the wrap around body which projects under the car. I'm certain it was caused by the dealership when they installed the plastic air vents for the brakes as there should have been no other reason for this vehicle to have been on a jack.

You would think that if anyone, the Dealership would take the extra care to prevent this. UNBELIEVEABLE.

You would think a Dealership would know how to lift a Corvette, but the people they hire either don't know or don't care. I have seen numerous examples of underside damage. Makes me a firm believer in taking the Vette to a dealer ONLY as a last resort!

I carry my inserts in the car at all times, because you never know when it might need to be jacked up. Anytime I leave the car with a service person, I either hand the ziplock bag with the inserts to the person I give the fob to, or I will leave them on the driver's seat, and mention them. Even at the dealership, I will tell them I prefer that they use mine even if they have a set that fits the car.

Many of us on this forum are extremely gunshy to leave our car with a dealer - this is one of the major reasons why. Greasy handprints, paint chips, greasy footprint, the ever popular "joyride", fix one thing but break two others, etc. are other significant factors. I'll take my chances in my own garage - even if it means I have to pay a few dollars (as in doing my own oil changes for the first two years).

I have already had to replace the driver's side door sill plate due to the dealership's mechanics dragging their shoes across the plate (and stepping on the plate) when they get into and out of the car.

It is really a shame that a dealership would damage a car like that. Sadly it happens all too often.
