Default Custom Sill Plates - What's the Difference?

Ready to order my C7. Anyone have any idea what the difference is between a custom sill plate with Stingray logo and the standard sill plate? If you have pictures, please post. Thanks

OK, I'll bite. Where do you get these? I don't find them as new car order options. Code? Aftermarket?

OK. So the custom ones you can order (either with the vehicle or from Chevrolet Parts) say "Stingray". Do the standard ones that say "Corvette" already come on the vehicle or are the sills just bare?

They are easy to remove and install. It's almost like "plug and play" methodology.

The Stingray is what I chose as well.

The "Corvette" ones come standard and look great. There's nothing different about the optional, $200+ "Stingray" ones other than the word "Stingray" instead of "Corvette". How they justify the extra cost is anyone's guess.

Having just spent the $268 for the Stingray ones I have to admit that I like the Corvette ones better. The good news is that they do give you both sets but this is in my opinion a waste of resources. Much better off to spend this on a Curb Alert or something like that.

you don't see either unless the door is open, which is what, 30 seconds every now and then. Crazy amount of money for a different word. And I've spent some crazy money on things before.

So if you get this option, you get both sets of the will plates? (Same as the mats?) if this is the case, I'd be interested in purchasing someone's unwanted standard plates. My driver's side plate is scuffed, and I'd like to replace it.

I had the same problem with a scuffed sill plate. I purchased two brand new ("Corvette") replacements at a certain internet website and would sell one for $35.00 including shipping. PM me if interested...

I thought this was the case, but I received them on my R8C delivery. The standard ones were in a sealed box. Not sure who installed them on mine, but they sure do look nice. Now I have a backup set too.
