Should I avoid a Z51??

No one has talked about the different gearing in the Z51. That was important to me. All Corvettes are too long legged in the gearing.
The Z51 gearing makes the car more fun to drive on the street.
I took a 300 mile trip through the Arkansas mountains today and made use of all the different suspension settings which made the drive more enjoyable and entertaining.
I am 67 years old, but drive the back roads in the Ozarks very hard
At least weekly. I will probably never track the car, but that doesn't stop making day to day use of the Z51 features and enjoying the benefits.
I have a different setting for different moods and roads and still get the ride smooth when I just want to cruise.
I have special ordered both a C7 coupe and convertible with Z51 and magnetic ride. If I get another it will definitely be a Z51.
A real performance bargain in my book.

Went with the Z51
The decision has been reached..Laguna Blue Z51 coupe. Thanks to all who provided insight to the benefits of owning a Z51. While another Z06 would have been nice, I am sure we will be very happy with our choice.

If you aren't going to push the car to its limit, stick to a base stingray. I have a Z51 and love it and am waiting for track days 
I am asking for some honest opinions here, so please try to help me to decide. I bought a 08 Z06 and shortly thereafter, all the bad stories began about LS7 engine failing. I never did any problems with the car and sold it due to health issues. Now, I have my sights set on a C7 Z51(dealer stock, very good price & right color) and all these posts about the "burping oil", 500 mile initial oil changes, stiff ride, etc have me wondering. There does not seem to be too many issues with the wet sump engine in the base car. Is the sky falling again?

Great choice! 9K on my Z51 Laguna Blue Coupe and positively love everything about the car. Made sure oil was at correct level once I realized others were having issues(which mine was spot on) and been flawless.
