Default Enough HP ?

Gentle People........I know only recently to market, have many out there gone from C6 Z06 to C7 A8, Z51, Mag Ride ? Do you wish for more power or does overall balance and comfort of car over ride a step down in power? I'm thinking my wife would feel comfortable in an occasional "girls" night out in auto C7, while she never considers taking C6 Z on her own. I fear waiting for new Z even with A8 may intimate her. I've had my share of go fast beasts, now looking for go fast refinement.

I came down from a C6 Callaway (580 hp) MN6, to a C7 auto. One of the driving forces was the auto trans so wifey would be comfortable driving. Anytime you come down 120 hp you will notice the difference. I do miss the performance and intoxicating whine of the sc of the Callaway. I should think the same would apply to the Z06. Unlike the Z06, my Callaway was on the C6 Z51 format, and as such there was no noticeable difference in refinement, ride comfort, or road manners during the transition to the C7. Good luck w/ your decision

Purchasing A Z06 I'm just going to add A few things to pep it up A little more.

My last vette was a normally aspirated 427 that made a very mild 580 to the wheels. That was my boy racer. Like you, I will take this one into my retirement and want to keep the drive refined and the MPG reasonable. It's a 3LT Z51 Mag Ride NPP Coupe. I've had it for 6 months and the newness is wearing off and I miss the power I had before. This week I put a deposit on a supercharger setup from the boys at ECS. Drive like stock with 560-575 RWHP. Best of both worlds. You can drive it and keep it out of boost and you wouldn't know it wasn't stock.

Although mods limits a vehicle's resale to a narrower field of buyers ........read seldom recoup added investment......I understand why many consider it. Especially if the creamy? experience exists as reported by many C7 mag ride owners. However, wether Callaway or other shop added puffer to C7, one approaches the price of lightly optioned new Z. I may have to wait and experience first hand how compliant mag ride can tame taunt Z06 suspension before pulling trigger.......

I think most of us are probably power junkies. Who would not like a few more ponies. In reality, for me at least, the stock power levels are all I can handle. I am reminded of that fact when I stomp on it.
