This may be a re-thread and I may be late, if so my apologies. I was researching what is to come in my effort to determine what to about getting into a C7 and found this information. I was surprised that that Z06 is only going to be out for a year. http://2015carsrelease2016.com/2016-corvette-z07-news/
I am trying to see what is in store for the Stingray as I am sure GM is going to make changes to get everyone to trade up again.

Got to wonder about the accuracy of that story. I can't see GM dumping the Z06 after only one year, the article has the wrong base price for the Z06, and a $100K for a less powerful car doesn't make sense.
I tend to agree but found similar information in a few other places. I thought the info about a new ZR1 made sense.
I also read that they are supposed to increase the base HP on the base Stingray to over 500HP in either 2015 or 2016 as either and option or standard in order to compete with Ford and Dodge but again who knows what is real.
I'd be much happier leasing a C7 knowing I can just the latest one when the lease is over...but the leases are horrible.
At this point, I'll wind up doing nothing and just waiting until the spring.
Don't believe everything you read. I remember some of the stuff coming out of the car mags prior to the C7 release. Nothing but guesses. This belongs in the same category. GM would not release a Z06 with less power than the current car unless the car was going to be losing a lot of weight. I can't see them spending any more money modifying the C7 platform when they are already working on the C8.
