HI ..ready to place deposit on C7. Two things:
1. is the buying of a GM Discount from card points a real thing? If I buy someone's points ie, $1500 to them for a discount on points of $2500 ... am I really able to use it or getting scammed?
2. was going to look for used 2014 but 2015 prices are not much higher.
Anyone purchase for better than 10% off as I'm seeing with Kerbeck ; MCCAulkin? I've got the credit union setup with discount but it doesn't appear to be better than what some dealers are doing for us
My local dealer is not high volume; has agred to the credit union offer so I'll compare any of your advice on dealers to his offer
The discounts you are seeing at the big dealers are as best as it is right now, with the credit union disount a few hundred more off. Much better then it was last year at this time. As far as i know, you cant combine gm points with the credit union or supplier discount rates. Its not a scam as some people just have a lot of points and dont have a use for them.

Another thing to check would be your local dealers allocations. You could be waiting for a long time before the order goes in especially if you're getting options that are constraint like Z51 and a painted roof. They might be fine but you should certainly check. Some people have spent over 6 months and never had their order picked up because their dealer was dishonest about their allocations.
GM Credit Union Discount is the way to go if you can find a dealer that will accept it. You have to go to GM's site and input the car options you want and it takes approximately 8.6 percent off the price of the MSRP. All you have to do to qualify for the GM Credit Union Discount is be a member of the long list of CU's they have on their list. You do NOT have to use the credit union for your car purchase. Most dealers will not accept the program because they want to sell the C-7's at MSRP. This discount is close to what Kerbeck is offering on his C-7's.
thanks for the feedback. I did get a credit union number from teh GM website. It's god thru March. I have a local dealer who will accept it. I'll still put out a "bid" to dealers with my build off the Corvette website to see who may want the order. I'm doing a 2LT non Z51 ( I'll add Z51 struts later as I did on my C6) so my car will not be a tough order to fill . THANKS again for advice ... Bob
