Haven't bought a new Vette in a while, and I can't say the buying ordeal was ever life's most wonderful experience, but I've decided to try again. Recently, I passed a dealership and to my surprise, there were 10 Vettes on display, so I couldn't resist. Nope, all automatics, and I want a manual 1LT. Before I could escape, a salesman appeared, pulled the "Christian" routine, said there was only one 1LT manual within 2000 miles and they could get it for me for $65,500. Same car at Kerbeck for $50,950, of course they are almost 2000 miles away.

It's gotta be worth the airfare to Kerbeck for sure.
Ask them if they will do a courtesy delivery and how much. If they agree and the price is reasonable (300-400 or so), order a car from Kerbeck or any other forum dealer and do a courtesy delivery.

...or the cost to have the car shipped. I saved over $8,000.00 when I bought my vert from a dealer halfway across the country. It was more than worth the $800.00 charge and 2 day wait for enclosed shipping to my home town...
Add cost of shipping + whatever "hassle factor" costs you value to Kerbeck's price. Go to local dealer and say "this price or I walk". If they bite - buy. If not, walk. Just that simple. If you're still window shopping and the dealer knows it you'll never get their best price.
