i dont think using one fob over the other will make a diff. for the heat or cool to come on . from what i have now found , its just what you leave it set on with auto and ac on . you can not just leave it on heat
and r. start the car . it will not come on auto ac has to be left on
Just to clarify, one FOB calls Mem 1 in my car. The other FOB calls Mem2

Yes. For seat, mirrors, and telescoping steering wheel position.

AFAIK, no other personalization setting will differentiate between driver 1 and driver 2. For example, it doesn't matter if driver 1 sets the HUD a particular way, if driver 2 uses the car, driver 2 must change the HUD himself if it isn't what he/she wants, and driver 1 must change it back (the next time driver 1 uses the car).

Well, the C5 or C6 didn't do that either (as I remember. I know our C5Z doesn't).

I wonder what the rationale for not saving HVAC and radio settings in memory was. At the least, the HVAC setting makes a LOT of sense IMHO.....

thats what i mean .these fobs on the c7 do not control everything like the c6 . for each driver , a/c setting ,driving mode on the hud radio
settings and things like that . the c7 fobs or limited to what they control this is because they are in fact 1 fob . were as the 2 are diff. on the c6
this is what kept throwing me off , one controls everything the other does not, and then has the remote start that limits it even more .
so i find it better for me to do what i do on my c6 just get in the c7
start it then set the a/c heat to what i want for hat day or night kind of a pain but waht do you do .
on my black widow ed. ls3 truck i would start it in the winter and go out and the a/c was on burrrrr.
i guess the r. start has something to do with why there is not a fob 1 and 2 on the c7

What? What do you mean they're "1 fob"?

As in each one doesn't have its own unique digital identity?
