Hello everybody.
First time here and I just registered. Looks like a great forum for discussion and finding out info.
I just recently purchased a 2015 2LT Z51 Artic White Vette. I love it!!!
Does anyone know when the last year Vette's were made out of fiberglass instead of the new composite they are using now?

To answer your question, the C6 panels were made out of SMC (sheet molded compound) which is still basically fiberglass.

The panels are actually an amalgam of Carbon Fiber (~30%), Fiberglass and plastic composite. Funny how the Corvette is still referred to as the 'plastic car', when the hood and roof are carbon fiber and the panels are the mix I mentioned above. Having owned several BMW's, the front fenders on both my 335 and X5 were plastic...
I guess it saves weight and won't rust, but nobody every describes those cars as 'plastic'.
Welcome to Corvette ownership. Beautiful car you have. Although mine is Laguna Blue I love the white.
