C7 Taillights Will Become a Staple Design Element at Chevy
It looks like some of the hot appeal of the Corvette will be showing up in a few more Chevy vehicles.
GM’s design chief Ed Welburn said some of the design elements of the C7 will be present in the carmaker’s future lineup of vehicles, according to an Automotive News report. In fact, a few of those vehicles appear to be revving up for a debut.

What you need to understand is that the Corvette taillights were 'somehow' derived from the 3D BMW i8 tail lights. Its the way cars are going in general. There is no way two separate companies could come up with the same idea at the same time by chance. I love the iteration though.

C6 owners will be overjoyed by this.

I speculate the c7 will get a refresh and lose the 09-13 camaro lights to its own lights (like c4 mid term freshen up) ......

Actually I read somewhere that the basic design of the C7 tail lights was set in stone as far back as 2008. The original intent was that when the new Camaro launched in 2010 the design was to have "followed" the C7s. Instead, because of the bankruptcy, the Camaro actually launched first causing all the complaints regarding the C7's "Camaro" tail lights when the Stingray was finally brought to market. This recent "revelation" regarding Chevrolet's planned family of styling cues has actually been in the cards for years.

I agree, and I think they look great. The first time I saw the rear of the C7 I was hooked, bought a 2015 Laguna Blue Z51 7M last month and I am super happy with both its look and performance.

I love the C7 taillights. They are an integral part of the overall design. The C7 could no more have round taillights than C5 or C6 have the C7 design.

How anyone can honestly say these two look the same is totally beyond me:

lol... the Camaro tails look more like the c6 tails than the c7 tails. I never understood all the "Camaro" comments from c6 owners in reference to the stingray's tails. They look nothing like the c7 tails (with the exception that there are four of them and they are red).
