My Custom Wheels -
I just had these made for my C7. Well actually they aren't even finished yet. They still need to be sealed and bolted together.
I traded a supercharger system for them.
Unfortunately the fluorescent lights in my lobby make the centers look much lighter in color than they really are.
They are brushed, sprayed with a gray tint then cleared. It's kind of like a black chrome effect but done in gray.
Actually the guy who makes some of my pulleys and some of my supercharger brackets machined the wheels for me.
I sort of sketched out what I wanted and he machined out the center. Then we decided to bevel the edges of each spoke with a ball mill (or whatever the correct term is) That really made a difference.
I had to have an 11" wheel to fit my 315-30-20 Nitto NT01s properly. I'm at 709 RWHP and the stock tires just wouldn't cut it. I've been running the Nittos on the stock rims for a while and I can tell you that they changed the driving experience almost as much as adding the original supercharger did.
Where it be C5, C6 or C7, I always tell my customers get TIRES, TIRES, TIRES! It's the one mod that everyone overlooks.
I don't care if you have it supercharged, have a cam and head job, or whatever, tires should be at the top of your list.
This from a guy who knows absolutely nothing abut high horsepower cars.

Those are some beautiful wheels. Post up pics when you get them mounted on the car.

I agree they are beautiful. All those cap screws are going to be a bit*h to clean.

Even though the wheel has a weird offset, out of necessity, the wheels still have a 3" lip. If you look closely, the spokes actually "float" about .075" away from the outer barrel. They do not touch the barrel at all. It's kind of a cool effect.
Fortunately I have a guy who comes by my shop every Wednesday and washes all my cars. I'll just have to tip him a little extra.

They look great, Andy! I agree, that 'lifted spoke' feature is becoming the new trend, almost like the 'gloss black' finish when it first turned up a couple years ago. BTW, what is going on out there regarding those 'head jobs' you are talking about?
