Out of curiosity, I Googled the dimensions of older Corvettes including the C1 and C3 to compare with the C7.
I was very surprised at what I learned. The C1 is almost identical in all dimensions other than height when compared with the C7. Believe that is also the case with the C3. The C7 has a noticeably longer wheelbase though.
Subjectively, I’d have thought the C7 was much larger. Appearances can be deceiving I guess. Don

The one dimension they don't publish, nor is it typicallly published for any car, SUV or truck is the mirror to mirror tip width! The C7 is 85 inches, 2 3/8 inches wider than the C6! Turns out not to be a problem but since I have three 8 foot wide garage doors was concerned before I received the C7 in early October 2013 as to just what clearance I'd have from the door frame! Turns out it's about 4 inches on either side. Knowing it was wider, while waiting to get the C7 I installed a spot light attached to the passenger side door channel. Used a suggestion from a forum poster, installed a screw-in socket with a plug in the bulb receptacle on the garage door opener. It comes on and stays on as long as that bulb is lit! Helps at night.

Ouch. I’d assume you fold the mirrors when you put the car into the garage?? I would. Don

It's my DD so, no I do not fold the mirrors in, I’m just carful! It really is not a problem, especially in the daytime. Just pull in, fairly straight and keep the edge of the driver’s side mirror from 2 to 3 inches from the left side. That gives 5 or 6 inch clearance on the right. Just need to be careful pulling in and especially pulling out at night. Since I had a long time to consider any width issues as I ordered the C7 in very early in 2013, I made one additional thing to help at night. A limit switch alarm! It was inexpensive and have it set so if closer than 2 inches on the right when backing out, it sets off a battery powered alarm before I get to the door edge! In 14 months only had that happen once! Fun to build and just that extra insurance.
The last 2 SUV’s we bought, powered fold-in mirrors were a key feature that we were sure they had! Would be a smart option for the Vette, as 8 foot doors are one of the standard sizes!
