I placed my order around 8/18 and picked up the car on 10/17. Half the time was waiting for allocation to open up for my specific build. The car was actually built (on my birthday ) a week earlier than the original TPW.
Ordered end of June, put into Order Workbench first week of July, Built 09/15/14 and was at the dealer here in SoCal on 10/27/14 then brought by flatbed form the dealer to my home on 10/28/14.
Ordered on 26 Oct 2014. As of 23 Dec 2014, still at 1100. Looks like late Feb 2015 at earliest (16+ weeks). Feel a little guilty about asking for updates via tracking thread but overall this has not been a pleasant experience compared to 2011.
This is what happens when govermint runs things. In 2011, it took about 8 weeks and actually enjoyed getting updates.
If I had known about the constraint issues, would have seriously considered what was in stock and if something was close, grab it.
How many people remember the HD wait lists of the 90s? I bought several HDs during that time frame, a '91, a '93 and a '97....not sure where the hype came from....still have my '99 fxdl, so I guess my waiting time is over...
Buying from stock is the way to go if you can find anything close to what you're looking for, but for me, finding a C7 base, Blade Silver, M7, 1LT with red calipers was just not there...
Good luck to those waiting, or those able to find what they wanted in stock....
I ordered 12/4, and hoping for a build before April, 2015...
