Great looking wheel
It just blows me away at how much a good looking set of wheels cost for a Corvette. Hearing numbers in excess of $6,300 for a set of wheels, over $8,000 by the time you add tires.
I understand that high quality wheels are lightweight, but is another 1, 2 or 3 pounds really that big of a deal, especially considering that 90% of Vette owners don't track their cars? Of course if you're racing it, then every ounce counts, but for the rest of us, I assume it's all about getting the look that you want?
The HRE P104's seem to have universally gotten the most compliments on the vette. While not exact, I found these wheels (photo below) online. To me, they look very similar and even though not exactly the same, to me, they "look" amazing and at least as good as the HRE wheels.
They offer them in 19x8.5 or 20x9, which would be perfect for the front and 20x10 or 21x10.5, which would be perfect for the rear. I'm just not sure if the offsets are right and if not, if they could be customized to the right offset. Will start calling around. But looking at them, they're no more concaved than the HRE wheel or any other wheel that I've seen on the Corvette, so I don't see why they couldn't make an offset that fits the C7. In my google search of images for this exact wheel, I found photos of them on a Porsche, as well as BMW's and Audi's. So thinking they're aiming at the high end car market and should be able to make them for the Vette, hopefully.
From what I've read, stock Corvette wheels weigh from 24 lbs in front to 28 lbs in the rear. But that's for a smaller wheel. The heaviest wheel of these is at 31 lbs, but it's also for a larger 21" wheel.
I don't think there's any argument that these are an attractive wheel and would look great on the Corvette? I guess it may not be to everyone's personal taste, but you get the point.
Now here's the real kicker....the price....COMPLETE SET of these in 20x9/21x10.5 is $1,248!!!!!!!
I'm just baffled at how this company can cut a good looking set of wheels for $1,248 and these other companies charge $6,300 to cut their wheels!! Really, $5,052 more dollars worth of cutting????
Anyway, for anyone interest, I will let you know what I come up with, if they can make this wheel with the correct offsets. Otherwise, I'll keep looking. I'm not a cheapskate, but am not filthy rich either and just can't bring myself, even in my crazy mind, to justify spending $1,575 for ONE WHEEL when a COMPLETE SET that looks this good can be had for $327 less than the cost of ONE SINGLE supposed "high quality" wheel!!! I would get just as much of a woody walking into the garage and seeing these wheels on my new Vette as I would if the HRE P104's were on it!

this is the Niche forged, notice there is a marked difference in finish and machining when CNC'd and forged.

If oyu want to stay cheap, at least look for a wheel that is "roto forged" like TSW, Cray or Forgestar
