Finally got our snow but only couple inches. This is how my baby spends the winter months, lately in single digits and very windy!Guess I won't be driving it for awhile.
I do have a waterproof cover under the tarp;I'll put the tarp on when they call for snow;just a little extra protection.

Doug, seems like I read on CF that trapping moisture against the car (by the added tarp?) is a bad thing. I don't have personal experience with that as I always found a garage for winter storage, but I am not sure the tarp is a "good thing".

Best wishes for an early Spring!
I kept my '02 & '04 outside for 12 years with no problems. I only put the tarp on while it is snowing then grab the tarp and throw off the snow and my cover is dry.
No problem at all. tender is plugged into the trunk outlet, the unit sits right behind the passenger seat, plugged into an outdoor extension and that just fits out the door space by the hinges and plugged into the outlet on the side of the house.

Good deal.Suggesting periodically checking cords for temperature or run to a GFI?
Yea, we got our first snow, two inches of snow and twelve inches of salt. Today I am going to put the battery tender on the car, first time since I purchased it in April. Forecast is for more snow this week, darn. Looks like a few weeks down time till the roads clear.
I'd also advise against using a waterproof cover of any kind. As long as you're well below freezing it probably won't be a problem .. but as soon as there's sufficient sun to start melting, you'll have moisture trapped all around your car, with no way to get rid of it .. like putting it in a greenhouse. This could affect aluminum or steel parts, could encourage mildew, etc.
Most good car covers 'breathe' .. I'd stick with that. Your car will get wet and a little dirty, but will be able to dry out when conditions allow it.
Just my $.02. I personally wouldn't have a really nice car without a garage.

The cover IS breathable and have used them for a dozen years on my C5's with NO problems.
