Default C7 Mods

Hello everyone, I am a new owner of C& corvette, Z51 package with 2lt. I was curious if there are any good mods out there but not to extreme that will void warranties. Exhaust, cold air kits, tuners..... Stuff like that. Just looking to get some input and some ideas. Thanks for your assistance.

What I have that I hope doesn't void warranty and from the general consensus doesn't. Diablo Tuner, AFE cold air intake, corsa x pipe. This is from what I can tell the best bang for your/my buck and get you from 460 hp to close to 500 hp. Until you get a supercharger I don't think you will find anything else more cost effective in getting better power/throttle response/sound. Never heard anyone say a dealer didn't grant a warranty claim with these upgrades and the sellers of these parts seem to insist they are overlooked by dealers.

Just looking for a little more power and little throatier sound. It has 275 miles on it so not looking to supercharge at this time. I'm sure I will down the road but for now just a few mods. Nothing crazy!!! Thanks

40hp isn't enough to make me want to risk my warranty. You haven't broken it in yet so how do you know you need more power?

That's exactly what I was thinking. I have not passed 600 miles yet, and have not really gotten on it, YET. So, how would I know if I need more HP or not.

I think you’re optimistic that those changes will give you 40HP. How many people have gone to a dealer with engine issues and a tune in the computer to know if dealers void the warranty? Pretty clear that GM, like all manufacturers, is hostile to any change to engine programing.

Notice the latest Car & Driver issue with an article on an Audi S7 with a computer tune? Great performance upgrade on an already fast car and Audi won’t honor the warranty even though dealers can do it for you.

Want to bet your warranty on what some aftermarket tuner says vs GM updating their software and detecting an unauthorized “tune”? I certainly don’t. Don

Hey everyone wants more HP

I understand the desire to mod to get more, just not sure I'll be doing much to this car. From what I have been reading I'm not sure there are to many beneficial basic mods that do much. People feel free to show me I'm wrong but CAI on this car probably not going to do a whole lot, a tune particularly for higher octane, 93 or some ethanol blend will get you some HP but all tunes will void warranty if they can prove the tune caused the problem and that you have been tuned. Cat back exhaust might sound nice but I bet you don't get more the 5 HP from stock, pretty expensive HP to me.

I’d LOVE for GM to come out with a factory authorized “tune” that kept the warranty intact but doubt it will happen. Don

I just know. Ive owned a viper with 650 hp and a gt500 with 780 at rear wheels. I like the power. Its always great do have. Not saying its slow or not enough power, but definitely know I will be wanting more eventually. Wether it be simple mods or a supercharger down the road.

Dont waste your time will small mod crap on an 11 second factory car.

Either boost it or build it.

Intake is a waste unless you have a built motor with a fat cam and ported heads.

10hp, whoopty doo!

Wait until it's mod time, then boost it with some headers and be done with it.

True dat..the day they warentee their tune and will cover "non covered " powertrain issues...is the day I give a tune a second thought on a car that is plenty fast for me

Well, these are Dyno proven according to their websites.
1. 93 Octane AFE Cold Air Intake Tune:
This tune adds an additional 16 horsepower and 13 ft. lbs. of torque to a Corvette that has an AFE cold air intake installed on it. The gains may seem less than the 91 Octane performance tune, but this is only because the vehicle is already making more power and torque due to the intake system.
2. The Momentum air intake system outflowed the factory intake by 42% and resulted in 18 additional horsepower and 22 lbs. x ft. torque.
3. Corsa 3.0" Double Helixx X-Pipe for the 2014+ Chevrolet Corvette Stingray
Fits: 2014-2015 Chevrolet Corvette C7, Coupe, Manual, 6.2L V8
2014-2015 Chevrolet Corvette C7, Coupe, Auto, 6.2L V8
Flow: Average of 20.24% gain over stock
Power Gains: Average increase of up to 5 HP and 4 TQ

460+39=499hp Give or take a little since each car is a little difference.

Mine are mostly aesthetic mods. If you're interested, see my signature and see My Garage.

If you're looking for performance mods, the guys already have suggested some for you.

I would look into making it a Callaway. Nothing to worry about with warranty and gets you over 600hp.
