This is my first post in the section. Just looking for an opinion...
I see lots of pictures and promotional photos of the C7 Zo6. It is shown in a color that is Not available, but I've seen it in more than a dozen different promotional renderings..

This color was popular in the C3 area.. it was called Riverside gold.
IN my opinion, a much more rich and appealing color then the Velocity Yellow that is offered....

What is the consensus of this Riverside gold becoming a real offering in the Z06. as pictures in so many renderings... Not so much if it will be offered, but what do you think of the color? Just my curiosity, as a retired GM designer.
Thanks
Bill aka ET

Velocity yellow is a great looking color, but the Riverside Gold in the renderings makes it look washed out. I think Riverside Gold would be a great color for GM to offer next year. Much richer looking.

If you are retired GM designer, you know the drill...focus groups and market research will will play heavily into color selections...I wonder what they will say on it....

That color rendering looks like the C7R and they look more yellow in person too.

My first Corvette was a Riverside Gold '69 427/390 coupe and I always liked that color. I really thought there would be a gold offered for the 50th anniversary model, and I would have purchased one. One issue might be color matching between fascias and the rest of the body panels. It would be great to see a really 'new' color offered.

Hey Bill Good to see you on the C7 forum. While I love the look in the renderings, the gold used on the C3 never did look that great to me.

The renderings don't look much like Riverside Gold to me:

The promotional renderings are really Velocity Yellow renderings.
Here is a rendering of the C7R:

And here is an actual photo:

It would be my personal choice, if and when......

OK let me rephrase... its too late to change the topic line.. and I agree Riverside Gold is not the rendering color I like.. its more of a mustard gold or dark mustard color... the point I was trying to make and have maintained since the rendering were first offered was , I like that Dark Mustard color over Velocity yellow...

So lets forget the Riverside Yellow color, and focus on the perceived dark mustard color found in the renderings..

Just looking for discussion , not argument.. Dark Mustard Yellow with carbon fiber accents. C7 Z06

I had a 1985 Gold Corvette and all of my other cars are Gold when it is offered.
I would have gotten Riverside Gold instead of Velocity Yellow in an instant if it were available. I want a Gold C7 and may have to paint mine to get it.

OK, in that case I like the rendering color better than Velocity Yellow, but I'm not sure how that "Dark Mustard Yellow" would look "in the flesh". There's is so much unnatural shadowing in the renders that would not appear in reality.

when I was younger, the VY would have been a choice, I could live with... for me, the mustard color would be less in your face, a little more refined, and a nice transition color with carbon fiber accents. I could also envision a two tone Z06 interior with standard interior leather colors, accented with carbon fiber inserts. Seats, steering wheel, door panels, console, dash.

That and a lot of color manipulation to get that metallic, sparkle look. It's also notable to see they have the tail lights lit to bring in the red and not emphasize the clear.

Hey Bill,

Great to see you posting. Hope all is well. As Glen said, it may be marketing throwing a color out there to get a reaction or just a dramatic rendering.

BTW: My "leave it stock" C7 already have aero work, CF interior, LT's, CAI and an appointment at ECS for a little more air into the engine.

You knew I couldn't leave it stock didn't you? LOL

Be well.

Kevin

I think they should have done something like this color. Not exactly, but close.

Kevin, when you lost "The Gentleman's Cruiser" and announced the New C7 , and your promise to keep it stock.. WE all Laughed and knew better ". IM happy you are helping to keep the economy going.

AS far as the color goes, there is no shortage of what ifs and so forth in this forum either,,,

I made a simple post of a rendering of a C7 Z06 , noting the color was appealing to me (AS A COLOR ).. an without any sort of lighting caveats or realities... true to forum the same type of people are found in all forums.. I manned up to calling it Riverside Gold by mistake.. considering the last time I saw it was 40 years ago,, yet someone thought, I was back-peddling or calling it a save....

The rendering show a color that is nothing like the VY . Its hard to believe that some people can not accept that difference...

Good to see you Kevin,, lets try to keep this one out of a ditch...

Riverside Gold Rendering

Velocity Yellow

Bill:

I see the difference you are talking about between the renderings and the photo of VY. While I believe the renderings were intended to represent VY in a certain lighting, it definitely looks different in the final analysis. I like the color in the renderings a lot too.

It isn't exactly the same, but the renderings remind me of my favorite C3 color - Warbonnet Yellow...
