Default Automatic door lock problem

I'm sure this has been discussed before but my search of the forum did not directly answer my question. I have had many C5 and 6's and never had this problem.
My 2014 C7 will not automatically lock the doors when I park, shut off the engine and leave the car. I have read the instructions and it appears to me that auto lock this is a normal feature and can be delayed for 5 seconds if wanted, but will occur normally without the need to program it into the vehicle. Am I wrong? If so, how to I program it to automatically lock both doors when I leave the vehicle.
Any help will be appreciated.

The manual defines this - it's in the “Passive Door Lock" section.

Passive Door Lock
This feature can be turned on or off,
or can be used to select feedback
when using the button on the driver
door to lock the vehicle.
Select Off, On with Horn
Chirp, or On.

Settings > Vehicle > Remote Lock, Unlock, Start > Passive Door Lock (On, On with Horn Chirp, Off).

Mine does after 15 or 20 seconds. Lights flash, doors lock. Passive Door Lock setting as previously mentioned

Instruments and Controls 5-45 in the 2014 Owner's Guide
Passive Door Lock
This feature can be turned on or off,
or can be used to select feedback
when using the button on the driver
door to lock the vehicle. See
Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)
System Operation on page 2-3.
Select Off, On with Horn
Chirp, or On.

Both my C5 and my C6 have done this, but you have to set it. I believe the default is "Off."

Thanks c6rod for asking this question. I thought it was suppose to lock the doors when I walked away but even if I left my keys inside the house the doors always seemed to be unlocked. Now I gotta check out the settings and find and turn it on.

I don't like this feature and have turned it off. Otherwise you can't get anything out of the car in the garage unless you bring the key and I don't carry my key unless I'm going somewhere in that car. Yes, I leave the car unlocked in the garage. Glad they gave us the option.

It also creates an issue of you leave someone in the car. It will auto lock and arm the alarm and then when the person moves the alarm sounds.

Both can be solved by pressing the Unlock button on the RKE after you shut the door. That overrides the passive lock.

I found this out the hard way - after a week unlocked at the airport.

Fortunately, nothing bad happened, but a scary moment, wish the default was to auto lock.
