Default Hello

Traded in my 2013 ZL1 Camaro vert to join the Corvette club as I just purchased a 2015 2LT Z51 Torch Red Stingray. Just wanted to say HI and will be reading up on these forums to get educated. Did I make the right move? I am losing a lot of HP.

Way to go! Welcome to the Corvette Forum, you will enjoy it. Nice ride!! I don't think you will notice the lack of horse power, the A8 will get you to 60 in about 3.7 seconds. Pretty quick. And it handles better, looks better, and will draw more looks and thumbs up than the Camaro.

Welcome!

You will not notice the difference in HP - the C7 pulls just as effortlessly as the ZL1. My other half has a ZL1 and while we have not had a side by side race yet, I have driven both and they are both equally amazing in their own ways. For me, I have always wanted a Corvette and loved the styling. For him, he needed something that was easier to get in and out of and liked the idea of having a back seat (even if it is basically useless). You will not be disappointed with your C7, enjoy

Awesome, my main reason for switching is the fact only car enthusiasts knew that my car wasn't a normal Camaro, I definitely know that this car will turn heads. I took a chance on an auto vs stick, hope it works out. Also always wanted a Ferrari when I was a kid this will do just fine

Well done, you will definitely not be disappointed. IMHO, the upgraded interior/exterior is a significant improvement over the Z, so even with the HP loss you did very well. Now if you traded in a Z-28 that might have been different... But even though the 7.0L NA engine, handling package and Recaro's are alluring, I wouldn't trade my Z51 for a Z28. Enjoy!
