Default Removing Carpet For Fatmat Install?

The title says it all. I'd like to completely remove the carpet from behind the seats to the back of the car, in order to do the cleanest and most seamless install. Can anyone share how they have done this?

I saw a picture on this forum of someone who had done this, but there was no accompanying explanation as to how the carpet was removed.

Glen e did the Fatmat installation. On the C7 coupe the carpet is not attached at the bottom behind the seats and just lifts out of the way. Not sure if this is also true with the vert or what you have to do with the waterfall on the vert? In Glen e's picture he just lifts the carpet out of the way and places it in the cargo area until the install is completed.

I had seen that install, but what I am looking to do is completely remove the carpet, as I am going to install the Fatmat under the carpet in the cargo area. I think what Glen e did was place the Fatmat on top of the carpet in the cargo area, and under a cargo mat. I don't have a cargo mat nor do I plan on putting one back there.

I pulled the cargo area carpet out to remove the battery for winter storage. You need to take the "D" rings off - there is a torx screw - I think it is a T25 - under each of the two plastic covers. Once off, the carpet lifts out. It is tucked under the side plastic trim pieces, so lift it from the center. Hope this helps.

That certainly looks like a thorough installation!

Has anyone done this project on a vert? If so any suggestions on how to get the waterfall off?

That looks great. Did you use the 25 sq ft pack for this?

There is a sticky post on this. Pretty easy to do - did it today for a hard wire radar detector install.
