So, the first Corvette was a 1972, the second was 1985, the third was 1986 and the forth was 1998. I am no stranger to owing Corvettes. I still own the 1998, although it is on long-term loan to my son-in-law (I am somewhat popular with him as the 1998 only has 26,000 miles on it.)
The new C7 convertible is AW with the black stripes and the car is amazing compared to all of the others but......I am curious as to why, suddenly, GM is having so much trouble painting their Corvettes.
I am not complaining but I am perplexed. It can't be the fiberglass as that has always been the case. I suspect that this is a financial issue as they have been able to paint so much better in the past. I realize that orange peel has always been more prevalent on Corvettes but wow, the new ones seem to have more of it.
