2nd Day of ownership take a 60 mile Highway jaunt and somewhere a long the way my check engine light came on as I noticed it when I pulled into my destination. Hmm wonder if it is something that will clear went inside came back out later and started engine and the Light stayed on... I press OnStar and have them check it out and it was a Fuel System delivery error and to bring to service within a day. During the trip I was trying out all modes and in track and Sport I did get in the gas a bit trying out sport and track to listen to exhaust. Anyone else get early problem like this or is this a sign of things to come?
So I went to Service dept. this morning and they cleared the check engine light by reprogramming the chassis control module, said I should be good to go 2 hours later take it out on the interstate and switch to ECO mode and it comes on again. Take the car back to the dealer as obviously the problem isn't fixed and they drive it around and looking for the code to pop back up and nada. The fail code was P2635 2 fails 9 passes which is fuel system delivery and comes from the gas tank area. Tech says to watch for it again and tell me exactly what is going on during that time to help narrow it down. Anyone else have a similar issue? It's annoying as I can't use any remote features while I have a engine light on. Car has 630 miles now.
Well in the morning I drive the car about 10 miles park it for a meeting and come out like 7 hours later drive back home park it in garage for 1.5 hours back out of my driveway and accelerate and instantly the light comes on. I took it down to the dealership for the 3rd time this week and suspect they don't have the corvette techs working on Saturday as they promptly gave me a loaner car (Chevy Volt). I'm out of town all next week going to suck, car is awesome just can't believe I'm going thru this with a new car. I hope they can track down the issue. Am I the only one having this problem?
I had a check engine light turn on with my 2015. I have about 2000 miles now, I got it back in September and took out to see family in Texas. While I was driving to and from work the check engine light turned on so I took it to my local dealership. They ran some diagnostics and told me I was getting a faulty cylinder deactivation, they essentially kept the car for the next 4 days and told me they did everything that they could but couldn't locate a problem. I am now just waiting around for it to show back up so they can run more tests. I don't know if this sounds anything like what your problem is.
Clearly the techs working on your vehicle to date don't know what they are doing. Whenever you get the "trust me, it'll be OK now" vs. a definitive answer be suspicious. The smell of fresh BS in the air is also a warning sign. Good luck.
Especially a car like a corvette. I am not bashing on any other car but you don't spend $65,000+ for the check engine light to go off in the first 3000 miles of owning the car, much less for the technicians to tell you all they could do is clear the code and "hope it was a one time malfunction"
I would feel more confident if they would check with GM for any similar errors with other cars and tackle it that way instead of just going from the hip and lets hope it turns out ok! I will keep people updated, but they even looked at me weird when I suggested a 500 mile oil change because I read it on here, and was like oh maybe I am wrong and did some more research and yes we are supposed to get one now if you have a Z51, just amazes me they don't keep up on this stuff.
