Wow, that was pure luck! Go play the Lottery!
I think you said your C7 has the M7 transmission? As MeanDean43 noted above, there may be an Emergency Brake recall on your C7.

He still posts in OT.

OP, it's a parking brake, not a break. However, if yours is indeed a break that may explain what happened.

I think I have an explanation. I remember an earlier thread where a fellow with a C7 M7 car left it parked on some ramps with the car in gear and the parking brake set. The next time he drove the car, he got a message that the drive train needed service, but then the problem went away. The only explanation was that the brake wasn't holding tightly enough to keep from putting some torque (because the car was parked on a slope) on the drive train, and that torque loaded the mounts enough to activate the sensors in the "hill-hold" system. After a week, the mounts took a temporary set in that position, but came back to normal after he drove for a while.

The hill-hold system keeps the brake on when you're stopped on a hill until you let the clutch out to start moving. When you do that the sensors in the drive train mounts can tell that torque is being transmitted to the wheels, and it's time to release the brakes.

Obviously you have a slope in your garage, so maybe that's what happened in your case, too.

If you'll be parking your car on a slope for extended periods, I'd suggest putting chocks behind the rear tires. Let the weight of the car rest on the chocks, shut the engine off, and then let the clutch out with the transmission in gear. That way there's no torque on the drive train, and the mounts stay in the normal relaxed position. The next time you want to move the car, ease it forward, set the brake, and remove the chocks.

I've heard this many times as well. Don't start if if you're not going to drive it

Yikes, you were lucky! The brake should not have released.

BTW, welcome to the group!

My 2015 7M will not hold the brake on an incline indefinitely until I let the clutch out. It will hold for a few seconds, enough time to allow me to release the brake pedal and then do the clutch, then it releases the hold.
