I thought maybe it was time to join a Corvette forum. I've always enjoyed the company of like-minded owners so I'm looking forward to being a member. I own a 1968 base model convertible with a 300 horse 327. No power options what-so-ever. I bought it in 1975 as the third owner and have had it every since. The car has just under 60K miles on it although the original engine has been rebuilt 35 years ago and still runs smooth. It's got a stock 4-speed with 3:08 gears. I went through it nose to tail in 2006 and after a 3 year renovation, it looks like this now. Triple black, (red originally) with a Hartz cloth top, lowered a few inches, and the LT1 hood added. It also has '67 caps and thin trim rings. I also removed the backup lights and smoothed and filled the seams on the rear valance. I know some purists might be a bit turned off by the slight mods, but I wanted it to look a bit different then totally stock.
Thanks guys. It wasn't until after I posted this thread that I realized it was in the wrong section. Not the best way to make a first impression. I re-posted in the Intro section.
I love the way the convertible top follows the lines of the body on the C3. Chevy blew it on the C4-C6 IMHO and only got it more or less "right" once again on the C7 'vert.
That is straight up sexy. Would love to own that car. Never have been a fan of verts but I can make an exception! Welcome to the forum, there are a ton of nice guys/gals around here to learn from and B.S. with.
