I’d read about the tools Fred had in the works that thread onto the Stingrays lugs which allow you to quickly and easily install a wheel.

I looked at his website today and then called. He is shipping the alignment tools Friday. I ordered two, no shipping charges. They are $16 ea, 2 for $32 which I chose or 3 for $45 and are stainless steel. Don

I didn't know these existed. It sure looks like it would help prevent me from bouncing the wheel barrel off my calipers when struggling to mount a rim. Excuse my ignorance but I'm assuming the threaded end of the guide will pass through the stud hole in the wheel.

The tools are female threaded and do thread onto the studs on the rotor hub. I’m assuming and feel confident that their diameter is such that you can slide the wheel right up to the rotor hub and with two or more guide tools have the remaining three studs poking through the holes in the wheel. Thread on three nuts hand tight, remove the guide rods and thread on the remaining two nuts and there you have it. Much easier than messing with a 60# rear wheel. Looking forward to getting them. Don

I'm in for a pair and if they help out as I suspect they will, I'll be taking the rims off for a detail job more often.

Reverse Logic introduced the female threaded tools a year ago with an M12x1.25 thread. This is the size used on Nissan GT-R and 370Z vehicles.

The nominal diameter of the tool at the threaded end is 14mm. As it turns out the holes in automotive wheels are a nominal 15mm for cars with both M12 and M14 studs. In the case of the Corvette wheels the hole is > 15mm.

This type of tool is only feasible for cars with M12 studs. There is not enough room for the tool on a car with M14 studs.

Update March 2016: As it turns out some cars like the current Camaro have large enough holes in the wheels to accommodate a tool with a 16mm diameter. I recently introduced an M14x1.5 female threaded tool for vehicles with that wheel stud size.

I removed a lug nut and screwed one on. Definitely plenty of clearance.
Looks like they will work just fine. They should really be a back saver for me .

Hopefully the offshore competition will write the product off due to too low of sales volume. I must admit that it is nice to be the sole source on a product unlike the jacking pucks where everybody including Home Depot is a competitor.

Can the task be accomplished with just 2 or does it need to be done with 3

I ordered two last night and after seeing the pic with the blue calipers , im thinking 3 look necissary

If you decide to use two tools positioning them at 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock as shown in the attached photo probably makes the most sense.

Used my set of two for the first time last night. I was worried about scratching up the calipers trying to muscle the wheels on. These were a big help....especially with the rear wheel....darn big & heavy!

Two works just fine as Fred said. I think 3 gets you sort of right back into the idea of fishing around to get proper lineup on the studs or in this case, the guide rods. Two guide rods gets the other three studs properly positioned and away you go. Don

Any chance you will be making these in 1/2"?
My mechanic saw mine and would love a set for his custom Riviera.

I made a short run of 1/2-20 tools for Mustangs (through 2014MY). I don't have them on the website yet. I need to take some photos. The 1/2-20 tools have a 0.578" OD. The tools are heavier than the Corvette tools and the process for making them is slightly more complex due to the deeper threaded hole required for the relatively long Mustang studs. Price for the 1/2-20 tools is $17 to $18 each.

I am also working on some M14x1.5 tools for Camaros and 2015 Mustangs.

Fred, your jacking pucks are the best and a good price and I don't even have them! I bought my 2 inch high pucks to clear my side skirts early and thought they were the only ones that met the GM spec of 2 1/2 inch diameter at the time. I know now yours are as well. The big advantage is the ability to install your pucks in a short term permanent way when going to a dealer for whatever reason.
Like my C6, I put them on the passenger seat with a note but who knows if they read that!
In fact when I brought my C7 into the dealer to have the differential fluid checked because of a notice from GM in October 2013, I was concerned. I asked the service scheduler, who I know from work done on the C6 and is very good, to be sure they were used. She said, "Don't worry I will only let them use our alignment rack (not one of the ~12 center post lifts) since we recntly cracked a Corvette rocker panel and had to replace it!"
While watching to see what lift would be used I was looking thru the large window into the service waiting area. A mechanic saw me and asked if I wanted something. I said no just waiting to see where my new Vette will be lifted. "He said, don't worry we can use any of our lifts!"
I got the service scheduler and she brought me into the service area, introduced my to the recently certified C7 tech who assured me he would only use their alignment rack with drive on ramps!
Installing your pucks before bringing the car to a dealer or tire store would make me feel a lot better of not having my rocker panels or carbon fiber side skirts cracked!
