The nominal diameter of the tool at the threaded end is 14mm. As it turns out the holes in automotive wheels are a nominal 15mm for cars with both M12 and M14 studs. In the case of the Corvette wheels the hole is > 15mm.
This type of tool is only feasible for cars with M12 studs. There is not enough room for the tool on a car with M14 studs.
Update March 2016: As it turns out some cars like the current Camaro have large enough holes in the wheels to accommodate a tool with a 16mm diameter. I recently introduced an M14x1.5 female threaded tool for vehicles with that wheel stud size.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I am also working on some M14x1.5 tools for Camaros and 2015 Mustangs.
Like my C6, I put them on the passenger seat with a note but who knows if they read that!
In fact when I brought my C7 into the dealer to have the differential fluid checked because of a notice from GM in October 2013, I was concerned. I asked the service scheduler, who I know from work done on the C6 and is very good, to be sure they were used. She said, "Don't worry I will only let them use our alignment rack (not one of the ~12 center post lifts) since we recntly cracked a Corvette rocker panel and had to replace it!"
While watching to see what lift would be used I was looking thru the large window into the service waiting area. A mechanic saw me and asked if I wanted something. I said no just waiting to see where my new Vette will be lifted. "He said, don't worry we can use any of our lifts!"
I got the service scheduler and she brought me into the service area, introduced my to the recently certified C7 tech who assured me he would only use their alignment rack with drive on ramps!
Installing your pucks before bringing the car to a dealer or tire store would make me feel a lot better of not having my rocker panels or carbon fiber side skirts cracked!
