So I will soon be stripping off my old wax, then polishing, sealing, and waxing my C7 vert. I picked up a bottle of Meguiar's "Ultimate" Polish/Glaze on sale at my local Wally World. Is this stuff any good? Anyone have experience with it?
I personally dont think so, glaze is good for a show and fills in scraches, but washes off with your next wash. Meguires makes great polishes in the "ultimate compound" ( for an older car) and megs "205", great for c7's.....
What I have in my hand as I type is “Meguiar’s Ultimate Liquid Wax”. I’ve been using it for the 7 mo I’ve had the C7. I think it is excellent, very easy to use and leaves the paint glass like and beading water. Don
You need to follow Glen e instructions on polishing your car and use Blackfire products. Have been using his method and can say first hand that it works excellently as other forum members will say. His method has been talked about many times and you won't waste your time.
I'm an Adams products guy, however even if you choose another brand, I suggest watching their "how to" videos on their website or You Tube as they really break down the finish repair process. Good stuff!
I use the Meguiar's Ultimate line and think it's pretty good stuff for the casual "waxer" that doesn't want to spend the entire weekend making a car shiny.
The Ultimate Quick Wax is great, especially if you apply it often (every cruise night, before/after you take the car out of the garage). I used it often on my Machine Silver Z06 and after about a year of regular applications the paint had a brilliant shine, very difficult to obtain with silver!
Because your car is so new, I highly recommend using a premium carnauba paste wax (Adams Americana is pretty good). You don't need glaze unless you have swirls or minor imperfections in your paint.

Those are the products I use and have no complaints.
basically, with a couple of additions. I use their Ultimate wash/wax. Their micro-fiber wash mitt. I use a blade to remove most of the water and then their waffle micro-fiber towel to finish drying. For wax I use their carnuba paste. I have NO swirl marks and will put my finish up with anyone else's for shine. Each to their own, but I couldn't be happier with my process.
Orbital + med foam pad + med speed = gloss on a C7 that will stun you.
Blackfire Total Polish and Seal the same, if you plan on using one of their LSP'S ( detailing term for "last step product")
Glen,
Any major disadvantage in using the Total Polish and Seal vs. a separate Blackfire polish then seal? Also, if I use Total Polish and Seal, can/should I still wax over it?

Total polish and seal is a prep for whatever you want to put over it. it is a very mild polish plus paint cleaner. Many here are using TPNS and then crystal seal polymer to finish. All in my docs linked here.
