OP needs to lower his car before worrying about where the flags point.

Correct. I put mine on that way so that when I look at the tires I know exactly where the valve stem is. I believe that is the "proper" way to "index". I am **** too. Bottom of the flags points to the valve stem. Duh, they don't move when you spin da wheels (as someone asked about), day is part of da wheel.

My son and I both have '13 427 convertibles. I have the bottom of the flags pointing to the valve stem, he chose to have his pointing to the "CORVETTE" on the lip of the wheel. We both have the RUV black cup wheels offered only in '13 and I believe also in '12 as options on the ZO6 and ZR1. So we were a year ahead of you!!!

All pics I have seen in Corvette books put out by GM have the flags pointing to the "Corvette" lettering on the wheels. Pointing to the valve stems is old school.

I had to sell my C7 because of this....
So, I would park and get out to make sure the "corvette" on the wheel was in the 6 o'clock position which then put my center caps in the "Flags correct" position. But because GM ruined my life and made the rear wheels BIGGER, I would then have to back the car out and gas it to spin the rear wheels to get them lined up and then the fronts would be a little off so it would take me 10 minutes just to park, I finally said to hell with it and bought a Sonic with hubcaps....
Damn you GM....Damn you.....

Ah, man, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have brought it up. Now you'll never get to drive your car. Could be worse....look at the pickle C7Jake is in with his calipers (or as they are often known here on CF...."calibers", you know, part of the "breaking" system).

Plus the guys taking the pics for brochures aren't putting air in those tires!! It is called marketing, the pointed tip of the flag draws your eye to the stamped "corvette"on the rim. The other way it goes to the valve stem and they ain't selling valve stems.
I can't believe intelligent men/women (making a giant leap here) are spending this much time debating the proper way to "point your flags". I am retired so I have lots of time, those of you still employed need to find other outlets. Love it!!

I like old school, I am 75 and pointing them to the valve stems makes it a helluva lot easier to find the valve. You young guys have the time to first find the "corvette" stamp then go across the tire to the valve stem. See, mine is a one step process. With age comes wisdom.

indexing
I totally agree with the OP! It is the little things that make the difference between a 2nd place car and the 1st place car at a car show.
But what bothers me more is wanting both the front and rear wheels "indexed" to the same 12 o'clock position at the car show as well as left side versus the right side.
And just to drive me more insane is the knowledge that while I am driving my C7 I am aware that the front wheels and rear wheels are turning at different revs per mile due to different diameters and thus it is left to chance that the wheels will be indexed when I park the car. Jeez!
